Ren Gennerman works as the Features Editor for the Winonan.

Gennerman is currently in their final semester at Winona State University, and is majoring in Communication, Art, and Literature Teaching, and minoring Communication Studies Teaching. Their dream job would be working to advocate for personalized learning and student equity on a national level. Along with working at the Winonan, Gennerman also acts as the Vice President of the Society of Collegiate Journalists for Winona State University and a Lead Counselor at the Winona Family YMCA. Their hobbies include activism, theatre and reading.

Students create “#MeToo” signs during “Take Back the Night” on April 9. “Take Back the Night” is an event open to the public to support survivors of gender-based violence. Starting during the fall 2019 semester, the Minnesota State system implemented a new Sexual Violence Prevention Training program through D2L Brightspace in hopes of combating sexual and gender-based violence.
