Why did you choose to continue playing sports outside of high school? I loved the sport and didn’t want to stop playing it. My sister and my mom played here and they loved it and I wanted to see if I could too.

Most challenging part of the game? Physically, blocking has always been a challenge for me. Mentally, staying focused… especially in games that aren’t too challenging.

Your favorite aspect of the game? I really like to hit—that’s my position. I like to run different plays, different things we don’t usually do.

Accomplishments as a college athlete? My favorite game was last year when we beat Wayne State who was ranked 10th nationally. As far as accomplishments, last weekend I was named to the all tournament team in Indiana.

What do you do outside of school and sports? I’m really into outdoors and my family is really into fishing and hunting and things like that. So I love to fish, hunt, and hang out with friends and family.

Why did you choose Winona State University? I was never really an option. I was going to come here ever since I was little. I grew up here pretty much—I spent the summers down here with my sisters because they went here and my mom and dad went here. I sort of grew up with the volleyball program and knew how things worked, so I followed the tradition.

What are your plans post-graduation? I have to find an internship, but I’m not sure where yet!

If you could meet anyone (past/present) who would it be? Why? I’d have to say Michael Phelps or Gabby Douglas. It would be really cool to meet a professional athlete like them.

Who is your role model? Why? My sisters, mom and my dad are definitely my role models. They paved the way for me. I wouldn’t be there if it weren’t for them. I wouldn’t have had success in volleyball or in life if I hadn’t listened to them.
