The Brady’s Bluff entrance is marked, and there is parking available just outside the trailhead. When the snow melts and conditions aren’t muddy, this trail is a must-do this spring. This trail also will be fun to do with others or a pet.
This loop combines two trails together for a 2-hour hike with views of the bluffs and Mississippi river. On All Trails the hike is 3.2 miles and is located in Perrot State Park so make sure to pay any state park fees and leave no trace. (Elly Herrick)This hike is about a 25 minutes’ drive from Winona at Perrot State Park. A detailed route can be found on All Trails under the trail name Brady’s Bluff and Deer Me Run Trail loop. (Elly Herrick)A 35-minute drive from Winona will bring you into La Crosse and up a winding hill to the top. After that, you are able to get to the second hike. From the parking lot, this short trail leads to a beautiful view of the rim of the city on Miller Bluff. (Elly Herrick)This hike can last about 10 minutes or 3 hours, depending on what trail(s) you’d like to go on. The Miller Bluff Loop uses segments of other trails like Miller, Vista, Savanna, and Hickory. There are some parts where bikes are allowed as well. (Elly Herrick)The further you travel the more you are able to see. There are things to see like “The Altar” as well as bluffs with spray paint on them. (Elly Herrick)The Miller Bluff Loop, and part of the Visita trail are shown here where there are many interesting overlooks and areas to see as well as small parts on the trail like moss and frost on a rock and shelf fungi on trees.
