Madi Ruchie (she/her) is a first-year student majoring in Statistics, Mathematics and Data Science at Winona State University. She commonly goes by Stan, her nickname from high school, and can be found all over campus, completing her three majors’ worth of homework.  

She loves journalism and has lots of experience writing articles. She used to be an editor-in-chief of her high school newspaper and has written for sports, feature, news, student life and more. She also has experience in broadcast and podcasting. She loves talking to new people and staying up to date on news around campus. Madi loves to play ukulele, sketch, and hike the bluffs around Winona. She loves the outdoors; her favorite season is fall. She believes Winona is one of the best places to be in the fall. There are so many beautiful aspects of the city: the towering trees, hiking hills, and large bodies of water.
