On Feb. 6, 2026, the rock group Puscifer, released their new album “Normal Isn’t.” Puscifer is a well-known group for their song “Conditions of My Parole” which is off the album of the same title. The lead singer of Puscifer, Maynard James Keenan, is known for also being the lead singer of rock groups Tool and A Perfect Circle. Puscifer uses a blend of rock and slight country sounds that make their songs the perfect options to blast while driving through the country roads right outside Winona. This sound is continued into their most recent album release with several new bangers to crank the volume up on your listening experience. Here are a few of my recommendations to listen to off “Normal Isn’t.”
“Bad Wolf,” the third song off the album, and one of my favorites, uses a perfect blend of bass, drums and synth throughout the song to fill the listener with a haunting and angry energy. “Bad Wolf” is the perfect song to encourage the listener to let their anger out about the issues in our society that are upheld by the “bad wolves,” through the nearly 5 minutes that this song permeates through the speaker.
“Self Evident” is the next song off “Normal Isn’t” perfects the use of pauses to fuel the furious energy that is spread in this album. My favorite part of this song is the last 2 full minutes of the song that produce a part beat to slowly head bang through the rest of the song to.
“A Public Stoning” allows the listener a brief moment of relax from the heavy rock beats that are held consistently throughout this album with an instrumental beginning. The melody in the beginning of the fifth song on “Normal Isn’t” is what sets it different from the rest of the songs in the album, allowing for the listener to slowly recover and until it throws them right back into the loud sound of Puscifer with Keenan’s yelling that continues throughout the rest of the song.
“Mantastic” offers another fresh sound to “Normal Isn’t” with the vocals of Carina Round, who not only does vocals for the group but also plays guitar, percussion, and keyboards. The song opens as typical with Keenan but leads into the blissful voice of Round as she continues a haunted and angered noise to the seventh song off this album.
Overall, I would recommend this whole album to those that are reading that enjoy a haunted, angry and heavy beat rocker album.
