Earth Day safety announcement

Contributed by Tia Opelt

If you are driving around Winona on Saturday April 26th, please take extra caution. There will be Earth Day city transit buses, along with walkers and bikers around the downtown area. If you are a biker please remember to ride on the right side of the road, riding with traffic, not against, use your hand signals and enjoy the ride. Bikes will receive some high class attention at the event with free valet bike parking!  So drop off your bike (skate board, roller blades, etc), jump on an Earth Day bus, and get out to all of the great Earth Day sites! According to Road.cc, “Bike commuters report lower stress and greater feelings of freedom, relaxation, and excitement than car commuters.”

Go to the Levee, jump on a bus, and go to the Earth Day sites. Winona Earth Day is only a week away on Saturday, April 26th. The event will go from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The hub for the Earth Day events will be at the Levee Park at the corner of Main Street and the Mississippi where the bus pick up, Chalk On, a bike valet, food from the Bluff Country Co-op, vendors, anda  photo booth will take place.
