To the Winona State Campus and Winona community,
It has been brought to the attention of the Winonan staff that last week’s cover photo angered and offended some students, faculty and staff. In light of this concern, on behalf of the Winonan as an organization and our staff as a whole, we would like to extend a sincere apology to anyone who felt offended. We apologize for the misinterpretation of the photo we printed.
We at the Winonan strive to provide Winona State University with campus news to the best of our ability. While we also hope to create conversation, the Winonan does not aim to do so through hurt feelings.
Though this situation has not been a positive one overall, we do feel grateful that we as editors and reporters can use it as a learning experience. We hope others on campus have also been able to learn from this as well.
