Lumono Jubek Lowala, 20, of Rochester, Minnesota, died from drowning in the Mississippi River at Aghaming Park in Buffalo County, Wisconsin on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019.

Lowala was born on May 12, 1999 in Sanna’a, Yemen Republic, and resided in Rochester, Minnesota, where he graduated from Lourdes High School in June 2017.

Lowala was a sophomore at Winona State University, where he studied Management Information Systems.

Lowala is survived by his parents Jubek Lowala and Susanna Lakosang as well as his siblings Sukaje Lowala, Lado Lowala, Mogga Lowala and Loggale Lowala of Rochester.

Lowala’s visitation services were held on Friday, Aug. 16 at River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, and on Aug. 17 at The Co-Cathedral of St. John The Evangelist, where the funeral mass followed.

Lowala is buried at Calvary Cemetery in Rochester, Minnesota.
