Conrad Valdez, Sports Reporter & Photographer
Conrad Valdez (he/him) is a photographer and writer for the Winonan as of Fall 2024. Valdez is a first-year student from Palatine, Illinois, and chose Winona State University after having the opportunity to become the men’s Rugby team’s photographer. He is thankful for everything the rugby team has done as they are his second family!
Valdez is majoring in Visual Arts with a strong emphasis in Photography, as that is what he is passionate about. He is glad he got the opportunity to write and take photos for The Winonan as he plans on transferring to The University of Montana in Missoula. He is looking forward to his journey there and is grateful for his time at Winona.
Outside of university, Valdez loves to play the bass guitar. He loves listening to music as his favorite bands are Pearl Jam, Shinedown, Mother Love Bone, Alice In Chains, and Soundgarden. Valdez dreams of one day photographing a Pearl Jam concert and becoming a tour photographer for a band. Other than music, he loves to make graphic design posters, digital art, and plan creative photoshoots with friends.
