WSU Student Spearheads independent game company
Clara Ueland’s exhibit, “Impressions of Water,” will be at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum until Sept 25, 2022. Her exhibit features 44 pieces of nature-inspired artwork made with the Intaglio process, which involves etching shapes onto copper slides, rolling them with ink and pressing them onto paper.

Mae Mironer, senior, was in charge of the light production. “While I was writing the [lighting for the] show, I wanted to be able to convey the serious thematic tones that are prevalent throughout the play. I utilized color in order to do this,” Mironer said.

Dancescape performed a variety of dances on Feb. 17-19 in the Fusillo Theater of the DuFresne Performing Arts Center. Eleven different dances of varying mood, pace and atmosphere were performed throughout a 90-minute show. The Dancescape cast dedicated their final Dancescape performance of the weekend to Dancescape performer Hannah Goman, who passed away over the weekend.

The Frozen River Film Festival (FRFF) returned to Winona from Feb. 6 to 13 for its 17th year. The FRFF received more submis- sions this year than ever before running up to its return to in-person programming. In one week, FRFF delivers more than 80 films from 30 different countries, workshops and Q&A opportunities with directors, all integrated throughout the Winona community. The festi- val is especially unique in that it is an all-doc- umentary film festival.

The Winona State Potato Club is an organization dedicated to the celebration of the potato in its many forms. The creation of the club originally began as a joke, but then there was genuine interest in the idea of the club. Their next meeting is Sunday, Nov. 21 at 8 p.m. in Minné 103.

Students have started the year by taking advantage of the Darell Krueger Library and other spots on campus to hang out mask-free. With Winona State no longer having a mask mandate, it is up to students to take precaution if they dont feel comfortable.

Students who isolate on campus are moved to the basement of Morey-Shepherd Hall. The isolation period lasts 5 days and meals are delivered to them from Dining Services.

Joy Davis Ripley presented her photography project highlighting physical landscapes that connect with mental illness through her lens. “I just want to get some of these hard conversations out there in the public eye so that people can feel less alone,” Ripley said.
