Jovy Rockey: Business Owner

Rockey, a small business owner as of 2012, is running for Mayor of Winona. Rockey says she wants to foster a “quality of life” economy, focusing especially on outdoor recreation, travel and tourism, relocation and retirement living. Rockey also says that she supports building accessibility to the arts, supports expanding Winona’s outdoor recreation, opposes unethical police practices and supports following the Center for Disease Control guidelines for wearing masks and social distancing.

Scott Sherman: Member of the Winona County Economic Development Authority

Over the past 18 years, Sherman has served on multiple committees and advisory boards in Winona, most recently the Winona County Economic Development Authority. Sherman says one of his top priorities is engaging the community of Winona in public hearings and discussions. Sherman also says that he supports planning and preparation for economic recovery through the COVID-19 pandemic, supports modernizing Winona’s 2007 Comprehensive Plan to include more and opposes measures that will hinder growth of sustainability in Winona.
