Women’s Tennis battled against MSU Moorhead in Bismarck losing 3-4
The Warriors battled against Minnesota State University Moorhead, but they lost 3-4. During doubles play, the Warriors lost No. 1 doubles with a score of 5-7, won No. 2 doubles 6-4, and lastly won 6-2 in the third doubles spot. In singles, the Warriors fought but sadly lost both No.1 and No. 2 singles. Clara Thoemke, playing No. 3 singles, won her match after an excellent comeback, winning her final two sets, 6-0 and 6-2. Alexandra Madjun, playing No. 6 spot won 4-6, 7-5, and 10-7.
Warrior Baseball starts the season with a win on the road against Willian Jewell College
The Warriors traveled to Missouri and won 11-5 against the Cardinals. Winona State started off hot with the first three runs and continued to dominate the remainder of the game. Winona State cycled through three pitchers, Pierce Gritzmaker, Max Strecker, and George Henkel, who all threw heat while stationed at the mound.
Men’s Basketball Defeated Wayne State College to Advance to NSIC Quarterfinals
During the first round of the 2025 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Tournament, our Warriors defeated the Wildcats 63-59. Winona State started off hot and gained a very early lead as they brought intensity everywhere on the court. After ending the first half with a seven-point lead, the Warriors made some adjustments and quickly extended their lead. As the score got a little too tight, bringing the game to 55-53, our Warriors persevered and won with a four-point lead.
Warrior Gymnastics Ended Their Season with the Third Highest Score in Winona State History.
The Warriors ended their final regular game with one of the best meets in Winona State history. Our Warriors broke history in not only the overall team score, but placed within the top ten in vault, bars and beam. Winona State managed a score of 191.000 at the UW-Oshkosh quadrangular. Kennedy O’Connor received a 9.775 on the vault and Kaylee Bateman scored a 9.600. Along with these two reeling in the points for Winona State, Gabby Kraft scored a 9.750 and Bryce Stoltz scored a 9.725 during the beam event.
Women’s Track & Field Finished Sixth out of Fifteenth as they Wrapped up their Indoor Season in Mankato
The Winona State Track and Field team collected 37 points at the NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championship on Friday, Feb. 28th and Saturday, March 1st. On the first day, Winona State took home second place in the long jump event and the distance melody. Along with these two key events, Winona State took home fifth and seventh in the 5000m. On the second day, Hanna Reichenberger was a standout Warrior as she took fourth place in the triple jump. Overall, the Warriors were successful as they transition into their outdoor season.
Warrior Softball Wins 8-0 Against Missouri S&T
Winona State softball brought intensity as they dominated the field against the Miners. The Warriors scored the first four runs as they entered the third inning. Our Warriors continued to advance this lead as they scored more throughout the remaining four innings. The Warriors were leading by an impressive performance from pitcher, Izzy Howe, as she struck out 12 batters during all seven innings.
