This week I ate at the local Betty Jo’s restaurant in which I have had many good experiences. But, when I ate there recently I wasn’t quite satisfied with the service.
The amount we paid for our food was very reasonably priced, especially for the amount of food we got.
I ordered the West Coast Burger, and it was very delicious, including the fries it came with. I was very happy with the portions and the flavor of my food. I would most definitely order it again.
My friend ordered the herbivore pizza and said it was delicious as well. There was also popcorn to snack on while we waited for our food, which was also delicious.
Regardless of these so far great aspects, I was less than satisfied with the service. When we were seated they were very friendly and attentive. When it came time to order, our waitress was very nice, but not very attentive. She was unaware of the people sitting in the booth next to us. They were not served for quite awhile, until one of them got up and mentioned something to another server.
She was a bit overly excitable and forgot I asked for cheese on my burger. She brought me some on a plate, so I could add it to my burger. The pizza my friend ordered was not fully cut and we had to finish cutting it ourselves with the knives we were provided with at the table. This I do not blame her for, it was only her job to serve it. The food was prepared in a timely manner. The wait wasn’t long, although there were quite a few people in the restaurant.
I have always enjoyed the atmosphere of Betty Jo’s, and when I ate there at this occasion it was also very enjoyable—well lit and clean. It was decorated nicely, which made the atmosphere very casual and comfortable. Since the place was full I don’t think I was the only one who felt this way either.
Overall, I would go back again but maybe at a different time of the day when it isn’t as busy. The food, friendliness of many of the workers, as well as the atmosphere, made the experience worthwhile, and for that I would go back.
