My name is Alyssa Griffith and I’m the sports editor. I also go by Griff, Lyss and Lyssie.

I’m a junior majoring in Mass Communication with an emphasis in Photojournalism. In the future, I’m hoping to work for an MLB team in media and/or photography.

As you might expect, I am a sports fan–a mega sports fan if we get technical. I’m a Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. I don’t accept pity or harassment

because of this. I am proud of being a fan of teams that see hard times. It builds character. My family and I are currently working towards seeing the Cubs at every ballpark and having a blast in the process.

I hail from Rochester, Minn, where my parents reside with my Golden doodle, Clark and Lab, Addison (Wrigley Field is on the corner of Clark and Addison for those of you sports fans out there). I have an older brother named Ryan, and we are best buds. I’ve been working at Mestad’s Bridal and Formal Wear in Rochester as a tuxedo consultant for four years and I love it.

In my spare time, I work through the “1,000 Movies to See Before You Die” list, take photos, run, sing in my car, write, read, dance and laugh. Most of these activities happen independently.

I’m super excited to be the sports editor this year and I’m so pumped to see all of the amazing things our WSU athletes during the season!
