Get to know the Feautres Editor: Sarah Christiaansen

Hello faithful readers of the Winonan, welcome to another year of Winona State University news.

My name is Sarah Christiaansen and this is my second semester editing the features section of the newspaper. I am from Menomonee Falls, Wis. and am a senior at Winona State, majoring in Mass Communication: Journalism, and minoring in creative writing.

During the summers, I work at a camp called Pine Lake Camp in Waupaca, Wis. I spend my time as a lifeguard, hanging out with campers and getting awesome watch and flip flop tan lines.

In my spare time I love to read, write, knit, play soccer and Frisbee, camp, canoe and eat lots of food. One of my major passions in life is the cinema. I love going to movies and watching movies. I own over 250. It’s an expensive hobby but I love it.

When I graduate this spring, which is a terrifying thought, I hope to move somewhere on the west coast, hopefully Seattle, and work for a newspaper.

I am excited to be editing the paper this year, as many changes have been made to it, such as an online edition. Also, the features section will have news that is less fluff, which will be great for the paper.

I wish everyone a swell school year. Be safe, have fun.
