Paul Thissen: Nonpartisan, Incumbent
Thissen has served in the Minnesota Supreme Court for 2 years. Thissen formerly served as a Democratic-Farmer-Labor member of the Minnesota House of Representatives and was the speaker of the House from 2013-2014. In his application for the associate justice position, he wrote, “I want to be a Minnesota Supreme Court justice to make sure that our judicial system always sees and never forgets the real people behind the litigation.”
Michelle L. MacDonald: Nonpartisan, Attorney
MacDonald began her law career after getting her degree at Suffolk University. MacDonald says her top three priorities are exposing corruption in courts, restoring the presumption of innocence and reforming the judicial branch of government. MacDonald says she supports due process and the Rule of Law, supports adherence to the Constitution and supports protection of ‘fundamental rights”. MacDonald also helped to form Family Innocence, a nonprofit that helps to keep families out of court.
