A baseball fan’s MLB stadium tour

Matt Shalbrack/Winonan

Beginning on Sept. 6 and concluding on Sept. 28, I will have gone to five MLB games at three different stadiums in the month of September. I’ve attended games at Target Field (Minnesota Twins), Nationals Park (Washington Nationals) and on Sept. 20, I will be visiting Miller Park (Milwaukee Brewers).

What can I say? I love baseball. After the Brewers game on Sept. 20, I’ll be going to the Twins games on Sept. 24 and Sept. 28 to complete my marathon month of Major League Baseball.

Throughout the 2013 baseball season, I will have attended six MLB games and since I worked for the Tennessee Smokies, I worked 53 of the 70 home games before I headed back to Wisconsin/Minnesota. Even when I was away from the stadium though, I still watched the majority of the home games and worked during them as well. That’s a lot of baseball.

Baseball will always be a passion of mine. There’s never a day that will go by when I don’t like baseball. So here’s to you baseball. The regular season is over and then the postseason begins, giving me at least another month of baseball. Even though my Cubbies aren’t in the hunt, I still can’t wait to catch every postseason game I can get my eyes on.

Tonight at Miller Park, I’ll have a beer in your honor baseball to salute your every achievement, every statistical category (even the sabermetric ones I don’t understand), every hit, every run and even every error (alliteration FTW). So here’s to you, baseball.

I can’t wait to see you live and in person a few more times this season.
