Natalie Tyler, Photographer

Natalie Tyler has been photographing for the Winonan since her first year at Winona state in 2018. While working for the Winonan, she established her photography business, taking lifestyle portraits that moved up into wedding photography. Before COVID, she was awarded 10th place at ACP for best news-photo.

Tyler is in her senior year at Winona State, majoring in Creative Digital Media, and minoring in dance, journalism, and creative writing. In addition to the Winonan and her studies, Tyler works with the student success center to take headshots for students on campus. She continues to manage her photography business and the Winona State’s Her-Campus social media chapter. Tyler is also an intern with 100 Rural Women this year, focusing on their social media, newsletter and podcast. She’s an active member in the Society for Collegiate Journalists. In her free-time, Tyler likes writing poetry, reading and binge watching Dance Moms.

After WSU, Tyler plans to pursue photography full-time in the cities and eventually get out of Minnesota state. In addition to this, she would love to work at a publishing firm or a newsroom to continue photojournalism.
