Nicole Girgen, Photo Editor

Nicole Girgen works as the current photo editor for the Winonan. She is in her third year as photo editor, after starting in the position during the 2017-18 school year and was a general photographer during the 2016-17 school year. Girgen is currently in her fifth year at Winona State University, and is majoring in Mass Communications - Journalism and minoring in Political Science. Her dream job is working as a photojournalist for National Geographic or The New York Times.

Along with working at the Winonan, Girgen is involved with River City Ballroom Dance and the Winona State Ballroom Dance Club, where she does occasional freelance photography. Her hobbies include writing, photography, and hiking.

Printed for the Feb. 5, 2018 issue: A bug trap uncleaned by a landlord who’s tenants have said does “the bare minimum to fix the issue” that has persisted since September 2017. Dwight Casper is one of many Winona landlords who supposedly don’t do their part to make their properties livable for students who rent, causing much unnecessary stress and uncomfortable housing situations.
